Privacy Policy
Roll for Trivia ("we", "us") runs the daily trivia game at rollfortrivia.io. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with and how we protect it. We collect as little as we can.
Information we collect
- Your account. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and a Google account ID. Our sign-in provider, Supabase, stores this so you can stay signed in. You can play today's quest without signing in.
- Payments. If you subscribe, Stripe collects your payment details on its own secure checkout page. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe tells us your email address, your subscription status and the ID that links your Stripe customer record to your Roll for Trivia account.
- Game progress on your device. Your answers, scores, streaks and sign-in session are saved in your browser's local storage, on your device only. We don't send your scores to our servers.
- Technical information. Like most websites, our host (Vercel) records basic request details such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to run and secure the site. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when the page loads.
rollfortrivia.io doesn't set any cookies and doesn't use advertising or analytics tools. When you sign in with Google or pay through Stripe, you're taken to their pages, which use their own cookies under their own privacy policies.
What we don't store
- Your login details. You sign in on Google's own page, so we never see or store your Google password. Our servers don't save your sign-in session either. The sign-in token stays in your browser, and each time you open a page that needs it, our server only checks it with Supabase.
- Your payment details. You enter your card or other payment details only on Stripe's checkout page. We never receive or store card numbers, expiry dates, security codes or bank details. Stripe holds them, and we only check with Stripe whether your subscription is active.
How we use it
- To sign you in and keep you signed in.
- To check whether you have an active subscription, unlock past quests and let you manage or cancel billing.
- To answer support requests.
- To keep the site running, secure and free of abuse.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent your information. We share it only with the service providers that run the site, and only what each one needs:
- Google, for sign-in and web fonts.
- Supabase, which stores your sign-in account.
- Stripe, which processes payments and manages subscriptions.
- Vercel, which hosts the website and its servers.
This information is sent to these providers directly from your browser or from our servers, always over encrypted connections (HTTPS) through their official services. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the site.
How we protect it
- All traffic to the site is encrypted with HTTPS, and browsers are told to always use it (HSTS).
- We never handle passwords. Sign-in goes through Google with a secure code exchange (PKCE).
- Card payments are handled entirely by Stripe, which is certified to PCI DSS Level 1.
- Secret keys stay on our servers and are never sent to your browser.
- The site uses a strict Content Security Policy and other security headers to block malicious scripts and framing.
- We keep only the information we need.
How long we keep it
We keep your sign-in account until you ask us to delete it. Stripe keeps payment records for as long as the law requires. Data in your browser stays until you clear it.
Your choices
- Cancel your subscription at any time from the Account page.
- Clear your saved progress by clearing this site's data in your browser.
- Email us to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you.
Children
Roll for Trivia isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the effective date.
